Covid affecting dance and dance teachers
When further exploring my data and now the new restrictions in the UK coming into effect I had to take a step back and think about how to proceed with my inquiry. The restrictions are changing the very shape of the dance industry and now my practice too. I am exploring the effect of injury on young dancers, in a mental and physical way but now socially it is effecting them too. As I delve in deeper to my inquiry I cannot ignore the pandemic, so have decided to include it in my inquiry because the mental injury and physical injuries that can occur in young dancers could get heightened within times like today.
The new normal has been incredibly different and whilst working on Module 3 a rollercoaster. But this has also taught me about adaptability which is a hugely apparent when injury occurs. The ability to adapt to the new normal when injured and adapt your dancing around that is a huge challenge physically but also mentally. The mental is proving to be even more important than I previously anticipated.
OneDanceUK have lots of amazing articles and links and information and is a hub of support for Dance. Definitely worth checking out.
